One of the interesting things about living in a foreign country where I'm not fluent in the language and my vocabulary is very limited is ordering something from a menu without quite knowing what I'm ordering, and then being pleasantly surprised when it's served. Tonight I had fondue with what turned out to be crab meat. Most excellent. |

“If you want to make a system that doesn't care about compatibility, you
may have more freedom. Of course, with that freedom comes the fact that
nobody actually wants to use your system, which gives you even _more_
freedom, since then you don't have to worry about those pesky users and
their real-life problems.”
