The Internet Is A Crazy Place (Thursday, May 7th, 2009) |
Last week I finally released a long-overdue update to the code that drives this site. It's open source and available for download. I was just doing some random searches, and I discovered that somebody has posted a (brief) review of my code. With screen shots. I don't speak Japanese, but between Babelfish and Google Translate, I think I get the gist of most of it (of course it doesn't help that they use English [sort of] words like “blogsystem” which gets mangled as “burogushisutemu” when transliterating into Katakana). Some of the text is still completely incomprehensible; I'm guessing they might be complaining about how annoying it is to have to edit all the Perl scripts to tell them where to find the weblib directory that contains all the modules, but that's really just a guess. It's pretty cool how the Internet lets you just throw stuff out there, and somebody on the other side of the planet who doesn't even speak your language can come along and play with it. |
